About Me

Born and raised in Juneau, Alaska, I was enchanted by my family’s piano from a very young age. Seeing my interest and enthusiasm for music, my mother supported and encouraged my curiosity and signed me up for piano lessons at the age of six. My first piano teacher was a great match, and I continued taking lessons through freshman year of high school. After moving to Oregon with my family during high school in 1998, I began teaching myself the skill of playing and singing my favorite songs on the piano by ear, with a particular love for Queen and Fiona Apple. My excitement for music also began expressing itself through composition, and I began writing my own songs, which I’m still passionate about doing today. In 2005, my love and talent for piano and voice were reinforced when I received a piano scholarship from Southern Oregon University, where I studied under the tutelage of Alexander Tutunov. I also studied classical guitar and voice during this time. In the years following, I explored the world of performing and gained experience recording in the studio with other musicians. In 2014, I began teaching piano at Lake Music in Lake Oswego where I taught students ranging from three to sixteen years old. I also have experience teaching adults. 

I understand how much knowing how to play an instrument can enrich one’s life, and I’m excited to help your child learn how to play and find joy in their skills. With a deep understanding and appreciation for music, I have an experienced approach to teaching, adapting to each individual’s personality and goals. I believe that everyone has a unique sound to share with the world, and I can’t wait to help your child explore and express theirs!

Rates & Locations

Lessons are $50 for a half hour and can be taught conveniently in your home or in studio. Longer lessons are also available.
